Below is a breakdown of the grade boundaries to help you understand your results better:

D2 - grade A (49 marks upwards)

M2 - grade B (41-48)

P2- grade C (35-40)

D1 - grade D (30-34)

M1 - grade E (24-29)

P1 - grade F (18-23)

Here at the Chantry we have an exciting new course which was launched in September 2013 at key stage 4.

We now offer an OCR Level 2 Cambridge National Certificate in Business and Enterprise (course code J814). The course offers opportunities to develop business skills required by employers, as well as enhancing transferable skills such as planning, researching, working with others and effective communication. Delivered with a combination of theory and application, topics are taught with an interactive and vocational approach, preparing students for Business Enterprise beyond school. Students put theory in to practice by setting up and running their own business as well as meeting with local business owners.

Course Information

Students who opt to do Business Studies have five lessons per fortnight. The course comprises of three modules which are assessed through both coursework and a formal exam. Students achieve either pass, merit, distinction or distinction*.


Unit 61 - Introduction to Business

 This unit is assessed through a 1 hour written exam and  unit provides students with understanding of how and why different forms of business ownership operate.


Unit 62 - Planning for Work 

This unit prepares students for entering the world of work. Students take part in the recruitment process as well as evaluate their own career aims; using and developing useful skills for the future. This unit is assessed internally through  coursework, presentations and role plays.


Unit 63 -Setting up and running a Business Enterprise

The vocational part of this course provides students with invaluable experience in applying the knowledge they have learnt through the other modules. Students will identify, plan, implement and evaluate an enterprise activity by working collaboratively in small groups. This unit is assessed internally through business documents and evaluations.
