Art and Design
At St George’s, our vision is deeply rooted in Psalm 139:14, which reminds us that every child is “fearfully and wonderfully made.” We believe each child is unique, created with talents and aspirations that we nurture through a broad and balanced curriculum. Our art curriculum aligns with this vision, encouraging children to explore their creativity and identity, inspired to shape the world with the gifts God has given them.
The art units are designed to provide pupils with a deep understanding of the fundamentals of art, exposing them to a wide range of artists and makers. Through these units, children are guided in developing the skills necessary to explore, analyse, and discuss art meaningfully. They are encouraged to combine their knowledge of art, artists, and techniques with their own experiences, allowing them to evaluate works of art and inform their own creative practices.
