Design Technology
At St George’s, our vision is grounded in Psalm 139:14, reminding us that each child is "fearfully and wonderfully made," with unique talents and aspirations. We strive to nurture these gifts through a well-rounded curriculum, empowering our pupils to shape the world around them. Our approach to Design and Technology (DT) reflects this vision, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills that inspire our children to contribute positively to their communities and beyond.
The Kapow Primary DT scheme provides a comprehensive and flexible framework that supports schools in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum. It is designed around six key areas: Structures, Mechanisms, Textiles, Electrical Systems, the Digital World, and Cooking and Nutrition. These areas are explored through four key strands: Design, Make, Evaluate, and Technical Knowledge.
