When is remote learning used?
We provide remote learning when pupils can’t attend school, for example due to illness, school closures, or other exceptional circumstances. Our aim is to help children keep up with their learning as smoothly as possible.
What remote learning looks like:
We use a mix of approaches to suit different situations, including:
- Recorded or live lessons
- Activities and assignments shared online
- Links to trusted resources like BBC Bitesize and Oak National Academy
- Printed work packs if needed
We always try to match what children would be learning in school.
What we expect
Pupils:
Take part in learning each day where possible
Aim for:
- Around 4 hours a day (Key Stage 1)
- Around 5 hours a day (Key Stage 2)
- Complete and hand in work set by teachers
Teachers:
- Provide clear lessons and a weekly plan
- Give feedback and support
- Keep in touch with families
Parents/carers:
Help children get started with their learning
Let us know if anything is making it difficult to take part
Need a device or internet access?
We understand that not everyone has access to a suitable device or reliable internet at home.
We may be able to help with:
- Loaning a laptop or tablet (depending on availability)
- Support with internet/data access
- Printed packs for offline learning
